Why physiotherapy at home?
No difficult journeys
Post-operative, neurological and older patients often cannot drive or manage public transport. The barrier to treatment is frequently transport, not motivation.
Assessment in the real environment
Stairs, thresholds, bathroom layout, bed height — a clinic cannot replicate where recovery actually has to happen.
Family and carers can be present
Whoever helps the patient day-to-day can learn the exercises and techniques first-hand.
Rehabilitation that fits the home
Exercise programmes built around the equipment, space and support you actually have.
Continuity after discharge
NHS rehab is time-limited. Many patients plateau at the point NHS input stops, not at the point recovery stops.
One-to-one throughout
You see the same physiotherapist every session, in a setting where you are comfortable and able to concentrate.
